This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students in a dual language, Spanish-English K-8 school in the Boston area. My students are eager learners and love innovative projects. I am their English teacher. My students spend one week studying every subject in my classroom in English, while they are in the Spanish classroom on the other week.

In my classroom, students are constantly applying skills and techniques that I am teaching and modeling for them.

Having the ability to immediately present and share student work in English, for the Spanish dominant students is POWERFUL.

My Project

My students need additional Chromebooks to add to our effort to become a 1 to 1 classroom (with student to technology).

My students are a diverse group of students in a dual language, Spanish-English K-8 school in the Boston area.

My students are eager learners and love innovative projects. I am their English teacher. My students spend one week studying every subject in my classroom in English, while they are in the Spanish classroom on the other week.

Currently, many of my students do not have access to a computer at home. If I want to use computers in school, I have to reserve them and hope that another teacher hasn't booked them. There are only 72 Chromebooks for 300 students to share.

If each student had a Chromebook, students would be able to complete many assignments online, while saving a ton of paper!

Third grade is when students take the MCAS, our state test, online for the first time. It is imperative that they practice reading, scrolling up and down the screen, answering questions online and typing.
