The students I come in contact with need access to brain stimulating hands-on games and books. The schools I work for are Title One schools. The students come from environments that are not the best conditions first thing in the morning. This means that we have a high percentage of children coming to us from low income families or neighborhoods that are not the safest locations for them to come on the bus from. What that means is that our student population has a very high percentage of families that live at or below the poverty line. Many students come to school to eat and have a place of security.
My Project
I am asking for 3D printers for our Title One schools. Title One schools are identified by their identified low socio-economic students that attend their school. Many of our Title One schools are located near technology based companies, such as Blue Horizon or even the Space Center. Both of these companies will need to continue the workforce throughout the years. We will be using 3D printers along with our literary studies with Ancient Egypt. Many of our Gifted Student Programs in our Title One schools do not have the same access as our beach side schools or higher socio-economic schools. By using the technology to engage students with our reading strategies we are sharing the opportunities that they have and can pursue later in life.
With your generous donation we are able to expose all students to the possibility of new technologies and what they could become for the future world.
We want to be able to give all of our students a chance to experience new technologies that are out there in the world. If we are not exposing our Title One school students to the new technologies we are missing out on possible students that could contribute to the bettering of our world.
