Technology for Advanced Speech Therapy

My Project

As a speech and language pathologist working in the jam packed public school system of NYC without access to standard facilities, we do speech therapy in many different locations that aren't the ideal. In years past, I've worked in stairwells and vestibules, even closets! Recently, I've created a spot down in the corner of the cafeteria (when not in use for eating) where my students can make as much noise as we want, as well as not be distracted by so many people passing by (I even have one shelf of cabinet space to use, a true luxury.

Many advanced therapy software programs as well as introductory communication software can be put on a tablet screen and used at the tables, but I need a large enough surface to work with, and that's where the iPad Pro comes in.

These children go back to their classrooms and work on Smart Boards or with their own personal laptops / tablets, but we need a shared visual space to use together that's portable and available for whatever situations are thrown my way wherever I am performing speech therapy.

I already have many programs that I use on a smaller iPad that is 8 years old, but it's very much showing signs of wear and tear and needs frequent rebooting as well as being incompatible with some of the latest software solutions available to me.

This tool will be invaluable for showcasing and interacting with new treatment approaches with my students no matter WHERE we are. Thank you for your consideration.
