My students need a new laptop to enhance student learning. We are currently using a old laptop. The laptop is extremely slow and its kinks often interupt lessons.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars come to school eager to learn every day. I am fortunate because I am teaching second grade this year. I will have many of the same scholars that I taught last year. We spend each morning focusing on Social Studies and Science topics. Scholars are eager to learn more. At times they have cheered when I tell them what we will be learning that day. Having a new laptop will allow the scholars' engagement to increase. They are very hard workers, who truly love to learn. They thrive on knowledge. They truly love to learn. They all receive free lunch and breakfast. Most scholars in my classroom do not have the opportunity to use technology on a daily basis. Many of my scholars speak English as their second language. My scholars all have different academic abilities and struggles.

My Project

Technology in the classroom creates a more engaging learning environment and allows my scholars to be sucessful. A new laptop would increase my scholars learning.

Scholars love learning on the Smartboard because it is interactive, engaging and fun.

We use the Smartboard daily in our classroom. This allows my scholars to experience interactive learning. The Smartboard is used for whole class learning (Literacy and Math) as we as small group of scholars use it during "Studio Time." Studio is time during the day where scholars are allowed to choice from a variety of hands on learning activites.

It becomes increasing difficult to use the Smartboard because my current computer often needs to be rebooted. When this happens it creates down time for the scholars which takes away from their learning time. It also decreases scholars interest level. My scholars are so eager to learn. A faster computer will make enjoyable learning happen. This would instilled a love for learning in my scholars that will hopefully last a lifetime.
