This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low income/high poverty school. My students are faced with up and down situtations on a daily basis. We are a 100% free and reduced breakfast and lunch school in a very large city. Sometimes the only meals they get are from school. We have a community of parents that care and love their children very much so. They want to see them succeed to their highest potential. Some students have a hard time staying focused because of what might be going on in their life at home. Regardless of what challenges my students face, they want to achieve all that they possibly can.

My Project

My students need touch screen Chromebooks to research specific projects quickly. We will be doing a lot of research projects together. The new Chromebooks will allow the students to work at a faster pace. This will be good since we are departmentalized and time is limited. My students have to analyze the impact of selected media and formats on meaning while summarizing what they read.

The students present their research projects after gathering information from the Chromebooks.

They present claims and findings during formal and informal presentations. They have to collaborate with one another on their findings.
