My Students

My students range in grade from Kindergarten to 4th graders with various learning and developmental disabilities. These students work hard and give their best effort, even when academics are difficult and social skills do not come naturally.

I am so fortunate to spend everyday instilling worth and learning in students with disabilities who struggle to reach academic expectations.

The Resource Room is meant to be an escape from the pressures of the general education classroom, where students are able to show success in the small group and express their thoughts in a safe space.

My Project

Having access to iPad's will give my students engaging opportunities to communicate, read, and learn. My students want to do well in school and are often giving their best effort and simply fall short. This feeling of not being enough resonates and makes learning a harsh experience they want to avoid. Using iPads can provide them with a "cool" way to read and communicate their feelings.

These special education students need resources to reach them at their level, and provide them opportunities to enjoy learning and have fun at school.

School should be a positive experience and students should feel excited to learn and take on new challenges.
