This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello, I teach in a very diverse school district where many of my students do not have to materials they need to succeed every day at school.

The students in my classroom are second language learners from a variety of countries around the world.

Many come with no supplies and are not only learning a new language but must keep up with grade level expectations.

Students that attend my district are at 100% free and reduced-price lunch and 89% of them are classified as low-income families. Please consider helping my students have what they need to be successful.

My Project

An Apple iPad and cover would help my ELLs with being able to see vivid vocabulary examples at their fingertips and aid in communication with various translation applications. Students will be able to engage in making digital storybooks, record and listen to their English acquisition, and do research.

One area my students struggle the most with is listening and speaking.

Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more and allow my students to experience cutting edge technology in our classroom.
