There are 23 amazing third graders at our Elementary School from neighborhoods all around Boston. Technology is an important part of our daily learning.
The third graders of my classroom are inquisitive, conscientious learners.
They are caring, kind members of our classroom and school community, who are extremely engaged when technology is available. Our school is currently a level 3 school with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) focus. Our dedicated educator staff at the Winship makes it our mission to provide all of our students with the tools they need for success, while holding every student to high standards, academically and socially.
Our school district provides us with numerous online resources that allow our scholars to grow within the school walls, as well as at home. All of our scholars are provided with Raz-Kids (a reading resource that is individualized to a student'a specific reading level) and First In Math (a math resource that is designed to not only keep students engaged in math, but also to provide individual stats and scores that will cater to individual student needs), as well as several other reading and writing programs.
Also, each student in our school system has a Google account. Through the use of these iPads, students will be able to use all the tools that come with their accounts. I hope to gain the tools I have requested as another way to increase student learning and keep students engaged in a fun way, while also familiarizing students with technology.
Your donations will have a great impact on my third graders as they become more technologically inclined and engaged in their learning.
I leave you with one last thought, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss
