My Students

The school family that I am so lucky to be apart of is made up of an eclectic community of hard-working, curious, involved students who are trying to make sense of their education in this complicated time. They show up to my class with positive attitudes and a willingness to try new things every day. I am truly inspired by their ability to adapt and take chances to make the best of a difficult situation.

Many of my students have made it clear that problems with technology are a growing problem in our hybrid classroom model.

It has also become an issue for me as well as the demands for online learning increase.

Our students run the gambit socioeconomically, academically, and socially. Not all the students we serve learn in the same way or have access to the same level of resources. We as a community are doing everything we can to provide supports in and outside of the classroom to ensure that every student is given an opportunity to be successful regardless of where they are at.

My Project

This project will help streamline online instruction in my classroom. The second monitor will allow me to dedicate a single screen to content and activities while also allowing me to monitor students' participation in my WebEx meetings. The use of a second monitor will make online lessons fluid with fewer screen changes.

The additional technology will also give me the ability to work with students in breakout groups in our WebEx meetings.

One of challenges for me has been providing individual feedback to students as they work on activities in so many new formats.
