Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are dynamic and articulate students who have a love for mathematics. I currently have 36 students in my two sessions for mathematics. My students are from homes and backgrounds that are not always able to have access to the latest technology.
My students live near several homeless shelters and and in some cases in poverty stricken areas.
The students in my classes are vibrant, excited and eager to learn despite their environment.
Many parents are not able to provide life experiences that many of us would view as typical. It is my honor to educate these students and I always strive to provide the best educational experiences.
My Project
I have reached the point in my career that has me desiring more and more for my students. I am enrolling myself in numerous workshops and conferences to assist in my professional development and capacity. Through this sought out education, I aspire to teach my students with this new found knowledge.
I am interested in learning about new techniques and strategies that I can bring back and share with my students.
This new technology will allow me to teach various learners and learning styles. I make every effort to keep abreast of all technical materials and equipment which will give my students the cutting edge for their future. When I walk out of my classroom for the last time, I want to leave as a teacher who taught students for 20 years, not one who has taught the same year 20 times. I want to use this new technology to implement new and exciting resources and teaching tools into my classroom that would make learning more interesting and fun. The opportunities through Apple devices are vast and I want my students to be exposed to that.
With this in mind, I strongly believe the donations for a state-of-the-art computer would give me the tools needed to equip myself for 21st-century learning and teaching.
