Tech Savvy Robotics Team Needs an EV3 Robot to Compete!

My Students

I am still getting to know my students, but so impressed with the knowledge base and interests they possess! This is a new school for me, so I had to leave my very utilized EV3 robot behind and start all over. I have been teaching in our district's gifted program for 12 years and have had very successful LEGO teams that made it to the state tournament.

I have great confidence that this group of talented students will embrace this new challenge and make a very successful team!

The school's showcase contained LEGO trophies from past years' teams, so I know there is a history of success within these walls.

My Project

As a teacher of Gifted and Talented students, I adhere to the National Association for the Gifted Child's Gifted Programming Standards. The standards especially pertinent to my program are the ones about planning instruction that helps students develop knowledge and skill necessary to be productive members of our society, and creating learning environments that foster curiosity, risk-taking, and skills necessary for leadership roles in a 21st-century global society. With your help, this project will provide the opportunity for my students to participate in the competition that requires these skills.

The First LEGO League Robotics competition is a great way to introduced students to the importance of technological thinking and help them grow their knowledge and develop self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills.

I have the students, I have the robotics game table, I just need to provide them with the Mindstorms EV3 set so they can build their robot and start programming!
