My students are full of life and energy! They never let a rainy day get them down. We are always trying to find new ways to learn! They love to play games and have hands-on experiences. Some of their favorite things to do in the classroom are singing, counting, and drawing. I love seeing them comprehend new lessons and understand new teaching concepts.
We are full of many different backgrounds and lifestyles, but when we are here, we are family!
I always enjoy seeing them come together and recognize they are all a part and have value in this world. It is a great reminder of why I do what I do!
My Project
As an elementary educator in rural America, I recognize the importance technology plays in the role of developing my students' skills. Many of my students do not have much technology at home, and an iPad is one of many tools my classroom could utilize to help bridge the gap in my student's lives. In an increasingly tech-savvy society, the need for technological advancement is critical to my students short and long term success rates.
I am confident an iPad would be a great learning asset and a mentally enriching instrument my students can enjoy for years to come.
Students will utilize iPads to expand learning. In our classroom, the iPads will have games, books, and online portfolios added to them to encourage learning and interactive skills.
One of the apps that will be used to increase literacy skills will be "Epic!". Epic allows students to read and listen to thousands of books. There is a large variety of stories to intrigue many unique interests of students. Audio books are also available for students to listen and learn fluency, enunciation, and inflection. Students will also use the "Seesaw" app to help document work samples and keep record of student's progress.
