Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from several different areas and live inside the city limits. They are very active in and outside of the classroom. Most of my students are involved in some type of extracurricular activity on the weekends like playing football, basketball, baseball, cheerleading, and/or soccer. I have one that says he rides horses. Our school has electives that the students can become involved in such as band, STEM, and art. Older students also have sports to choose from like football, cheerleading, baseball, basketball, and track. I have several students who love to draw, most of the time on my desk!

My Project

3D printing is just one of the new technologies being rapidly deployed into schools. The intent for these tools is to help encourage project-based curriculum and to find ways to use them in the STEM LAB. A 3D printer is a tool, much the same as the calculator, computer, or even the mighty marker. Learning how to use these tools is a useful activity and will help students in future endeavors. The 3D printers will allow me to make certain manipulatives readily available to my students. The iPads will aid in classroom and intervention. The items will be greatly appreciated.
