My students need a laptop and headphone for a new center in class.

This year, I am teaching third grade with a special education teacher in an inclusion classroom. My students have challenges and need a lot of one-on-one help. The other teacher, and myself, work with groups all day. We do a lot of one-on-one teaching and modeling and spend a lot of time moving around the classroom. We try to motivate, encourage, and remediate in order to keep our class moving to meet the state's standards. We are a great team working with great students.
My culturally diverse students thrive when they are able to access texts from all around the world. Unfortunately, many of my students cannot afford to get the other necessary materials for learning. I want provide my students with laptops so that can learn independently when I am working with another group. The laptop will help them stay focused and on task.
Headphones give me the opportunity to teach each student, no matter their first language or academic level.
Every day, I put together an individualized checklist for each of my students. Most of the work requires them to working with partners, in groups, or with a teacher. However, there are some fantastic online resources that students can do independently. The most effective resources require a visual, auditory, and even tactile component. It is so challenging for my students to hear and process the information while the rest of us are collaborating. The headphones will be great for this task.
With the computer and the headphones I know my students will continue to make amazing gains.
