My students need an additional computer to work on when they are engaged in small group instruction. We have three desktop computers in my classroom and we are in need of one more computer for students.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are so lovable, eager and ready to learn. Many of them come from challenging home lives. They are excited about school and searching for stability, comfort and love. They are bright explorers and have the passion to learn and thrive. Each and every one of them possess the potential for greatness. Acquiring the essential tools to teach them are crucial to my work at hand. I am looking to nurture my students to the best of my ability and possessing the correct tools that will meet their specific developmental needs is imperative.

My students have the necessary mindset and drive to become phenomenal leaders of tomorrow!

If I can equip them with the best technological tools they will be able to successfully compete with the world globally.

My Project

When the everyday world being run my technology more and more, it is imperative that my students be able to be technologically competent and proficient. My students spend a considerable amount of time working on computers and being able to understand how useful computers are to us. Because I have a very limited amount of desktop computers in my classroom, it is very necessary that I have one more computer that will accommodate small group instruction. In the past I have let some students use my own work laptop so that every child in that group could have a computer to work on. If I could receive one more computer it would greatly help to accommodate my technology station and my students will be able to properly utilize technology. I am requesting a laptop for my students to be able to use in small group instruction. This laptop will be essential for all of my students to be given the opportunity to become familiar with how to use a computer and for them to work on various websites that will strengthen their literacy and math skills. They also need to practice their typing skills because they will be expected to type their answers when they take the Georgia Milestones Test in third grade. The test is timed so they will have to be proficient in typing in order to be successful. This additional computer will enable every student to have adequate computer time each week.
