My students are hard-working, enthusiastic young men and women.
Their potential can be unlocked when they are allowed the independence and tools for them to do their best. Each and every student that passes through the doors of our classroom is eager to learn and take advantage to of the opportunities that education has to offer. With an optimistic outlook on the future, they make the most of each day.
The 150+ students in my class are a vision of hope for the future. Many come from low income homes in Queens, New York and some travel from as far as Brooklyn and Manhattan to the Eastern edge of Queens. Some are in foster care, while others live with grandparents. Despite these challenges, they are a hardworking group of high school sophomores and seniors who really want to succeed and create a bright future for themselves and our community.
My Project
A printer in the classroom will make it possible to print materials when school provided resources are stretched thin or where a spur of the moment activity calls for printed material that may not be on hand. My students will have access to a vast amount of printed resources for any particular topic we may be learning about with the requested printer.
The printer would also allow for the customization of a document to meet individual student needs, as well as provide students with instant snapshots of their progress in the course.
This is a cross transferable tool that can boost academic progress.
