Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are young children who are learning how to be leaders. These students attend a Title I Zoom school, which is their safe haven to learn and play. My students enjoy coming to school to be around their friends and neighbors.
As we all know, technology is becoming a huge present figure in the classroom, and my students love being able to use it.
My students have computer programs to work on each day, with only 3 student computers available in the classroom.
My Project
Technology has become a huge part of the 21st century classroom. We use computers to test, assign in-class activities, research projects, reward our students for completing their work, and listen to music while students are hard at work.
Being in a Title I Zoom school, we don't have the funding to upgrade our technology, and unfortunately, our computers shut down sometimes while students are learning.
By being able to purchase 10 Chromebooks, I can give more of my students access to their programs so we spend less time transitioning during classroom instruction and more time ensuring students have their personal time to learn at their own pace. My students and I would be able to fit more time into our day by allowing more students to complete their daily required computer minutes in a shorter amount of time.
