Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an inner city, public school located in the heart of South Central Los Angeles. The school is in a rough neighborhood. Our school is pretty big. It has over one thousand students. The school is Title I which means that the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
I teach a wonderful group of second graders.
They come to school eager and ready to learn, regardless of the struggles that they are surrounded with. They are energetic, loving, and enjoy learning new things.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad mini with a keyboard to be used during small group instruction. The iPad mini will be used for math, language arts, writing, and typing. Technology is driving our society, and the iPad with keyboard will help me provide enrichment to lessons taught. It will be a helpful tool to enhance learning and be a mobile workstation. My students need the unlimited amount of resources that the Internet also has to offer.
My student deserves the opportunity to use technology as a tool for enhancing their learning experience.
