I have 47 of the most adorable 9-10 year olds of all time! My students are in an immersion program and fluently speak both English and Chinese. Many of them even speak up to three languages.
My kids are creative, brilliant, driven hard workers.
As a first year teacher I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself to meet their varying needs. Due to the varying levels of readiness, our classroom has a focus on differentiation. This allows each student the opportunity to reach their personal best.
My Project
I am a first year teacher trying to do my best for my students. In my classroom, I have a wide range of learners. I am constantly looking for ways to enhance the learning of all students. It can often be difficult to find ways to keep all students engaged, especially my gifted students.
These tablets would allow my gifted students the chance to learn and explore outside of my instruction.
Many of my students have expressed an interest in learning to code, progressing in math, architecture, and art. I feel guilty that I do not have the time or knowledge to provide this for them. Through research I have been able to find several applications that would give them the chance to learn and explore these subjects on their own. Such as, Kodable, Daisy the Dinosaur, Tiny Bop, Doodle Buddy, Prodigy, and more.
These tablets would allow my students the opportunity to learn and grow outside of what I can teach them. It will also give them the opportunity to learn about something that is passionate to them. This would be an amazing gift to all my students.
