My Students

My students are all very different, but all so very amazing. They are bright and spontaneous. They are caring and noble. They are determined to find their way in the world outside the school doors. My students live in a tight-knit urban community. My classroom is built as a safe haven for students to express themselves verbally, emotionally, and physically without penalty. My classroom is built upon good morals and fixing mistakes while appreciating the many different cultures our classroom community brings together. As middle schoolers, each and every one of my students is in the process of discovering who they are as individuals, making decisions in their present that will change and impact their futures forever. My students are all amazing. They don't need much to succeed because they are brilliant and resilient, but they deserve so much more than I can give them as their teacher!

My Project

Our school’s softball program has been growing over the last few years. Many of our players use old, worn-down equipment that they share with other players year to year. I would like to provide my team with a team bat for them to be able to use during practice and games this upcoming season. Having a team bat available for players to use would allow them the equipment needed to compete in our competitive league while also alleviating the stress of players purchasing their own equipment. A team bat would be a great addition to our program!
