The school I teach at is in an urban setting and is in a "Title 1" school district. This means almost all students come from low income families. Many of my students live in poverty and often fail to have the necessary school supplies such as pencils, backpacks and even clean clothes to wear.
My students are special because they are resilient.
They come to school each day hopeful of having a safe place to discover, learn and communicate with others, despite some of their unfathomable home environment.
The iPad and Apple TV will make a significant difference in my students' learning by allowing me to be mobile while teaching instead of being stuck at the front of the room at the whiteboard. Students can also use the iPad to enhance their classroom learning experiences.
Students can use the iPad to take control and teach their own classmates.
They can do this by projecting (screen mirroring) the iPad's screen on my projector using the Apple TV device.
Having an iPad will improve students' lives by providing them with an opportunity to learn through the use of modern technology.
