This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a great group of students each year at our school. I work in a Title I school where 89% are "at risk" students. 100% of our students are on free breakfast and lunch. We have been fortunate to have 11 iPads for our room. 7 are mini iPads, and 4 are standard size. We have cases for 2 of the mini iPads and 1 case for the standard iPads.

We do not have any headphones and I only have 3 students who brought some from home.

I have tried to by a few inexpensive headphones but they break within a month since they are not made well. It would be great to have better protection for all of the iPads and to have headphones for the students when they use them so that they can gain the most from the opportunity to use this resource.

My Project

Since we have been blessed with several iPads for our 1st grade classroom, I would like to protect this resource with durable cases so that if they are dropped, they stand a better chance of not being broken.

It would also help to have headphones for the iPads, so that each student is able to hear, clearly, what they are engaged in at the time.

I bought earbuds for each student this year but many of them have lasted just a few weeks and cannot be shared. It would be great to have a set of headphones that can be used every year.
