My students are a wonderful group of diverse learners. This is my first year at our school as well as my first year as a Third Grade teacher. Third Grade is a wonderful age, my students are full of energy, curiosity and have a joy for learning. I teach in a low income school and more than half of my students receive free lunch. I want to provide them with a classroom environment that engages them and taps into their learning potential. My students try so hard in school every day to do their best work, and I want to ensure that my classroom is the most comfortable learning environment possible.
My Project
The Teach and Store Easel will add so much more storage and teaching flexibility in the classroom! In our district, we utilize teaching in small groups. Teaching in small groups allows me to differentiate my instruction for the variety of learners in my classroom. When teaching in small groups, the Teach and Store Easel can travel with me to any area in the classroom so that I may use it during small group instruction in math and reading. My students learn and benefit most from visual writing as well as visual directions and the Teach and Store Easel will allow me to utilize both strategies! Since my students are often times learning small groups, they are seated in different environments in the classroom daily. To make learning comfortable for them, wobble cushions and floor seats will help create a welcoming and accommodating classroom environment. Providing my students with different options for seating allows for their body to relax and their mind to be at ease while learning!
