This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 4th graders in an inner city school in New Jersey. I love my job and find it to be one of the most rewarding feelings when I can change or influence one student's outlook on something. This year, I have 21 students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and neighborhoods. I teach in a transient neighborhood and new students are constantly coming in. I have recently gained 2 new students and am in need of 2 more chrome books.

My Project

I teach in a transient city. It is very common to come in on a Monday morning throughout the year and be rewarded with a new student. This year, I have more students than ever and am still getting new students in. I am in need of 2 additional Chromebooks for my classroom so that every student will have daily access to technology. Part of our daily routine is giving out the Chromebooks in the morning. Each student knows to get working right away on the various educational websites we use such as Lexia, Tenmarks, Prodigy! If they finish an assignment early, they use their Chromebooks to access one of these sites while they wait for the rest of their classmates to finish up.
