Teaching in a low-income school district presents several challenges, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. The students have so much personality and drive to work hard despite the challenges in our district.
My students are creative, fun-loving, and love to use technology while learning all the necessary standards.
They come from difficult backgrounds, and many of them come from single-parent homes. I may not be able to make their home-life better, but it is my goal to make school a fun and inviting place for them to be. I want them to WANT to come to school every day!
These six tablets will be used to inspire our students to creatively learn through using 21st Century Skills in our classroom. These materials will make a huge difference in the lives of our students because they will learn necessary skills to be successful in a real-world scenario.
Our students love learning and want to soak up every ounce of what we teach, but having technology in the classroom sparks their interest and helps them buy into what we are teaching.
Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. Donations to this project will greatly impact the learning of our students.
Students will be using these tablets to complete mathematics station work using QR codes, listening to books online gaining more fluency, and they will also be using the tablets to work with mathematic fluency by using different educational apps.
