I am a speech-language pathologist who currently provides direct services to over 60 students in two inner-city schools in CT. Three of my classrooms are self-contained special education programs for students with special learning needs. My students have a variety of disabilities including autism, intellectual delays, fluency disorders, and a wide variety of speech and language disorders that impact their success in school. All my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over 90% of my special education students have been learning from home. In order to provide all my students the best therapy while they are learning from home on the computer some new speech and language boom cards are needed focusing on story retell, reading and listening comprehension and overall receptive and expressive language skills needed to succeed in the classroom.
A teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase some brand new speech and language boom card activities and materials focusing on story retell, vocabulary and comprehension that can be used during live therapy sessions and/or be printed out and made into therapy packets that can be sent directly to my students so they can practice at home.

There are many premade lessons on teachers pay teachers for popular books children love. I can purchase premade visuals and activities based on my students individual goals and objectives. These materials make distance learning so much more interactive and exciting while learning over the computer which will keep my students motivated and involved in their learning.
