This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
With this project I hope to begin teaching about music to video games as well as film and to compose a melody for the first verse, harmonic line in the chorus, or what is sometimes called a hook, move on to the second verse, teach them how to loop that part. And for the more advanced students sneak in a bridge. In addition, I hope to teach them to imitate different instruments with the use of a platform called Pizza Groove as they learn to compose.
By donating to this project, you will help give my students an understanding of a hobby they enjoy by adding music to video games.
My main goal for this project is to give my students an awareness of another career they can possibly consider in music, especially for my boys who lose interest in singing in the middle school. They will learn how to have characters move intime with the music, as well as have the background scenery move in correlation to the music they create. With this resource I can have students explore, Chrome Music Lab, Groove Pizza, Incredibox: Beat Maker, Jam Out with Sesame Street, and Ableton Live, Learn to Produce Platform.
The materials requested will be of great use in my classroom because we are a school that is heavy on technology yet low on finances. It is my opinion that we music teachers cannot teach music accurately if we do not include technology. Each grade has Chrome Books and other devices; however, these resources are not available to be shared with the specials department. I am very passionate to get this project off the ground as my students are amazingly creative and can an always have made magic out of nothing, so with this resource the sky is the limit.
