This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is full of special thinkers who are artists, storybook fanatics, scientist, mathematicians, ABC lovers, and so much more! My Special Education class is truly an amazing group of students who LOVE learning so much! I can't wait to fill my classroom with new learning materials like exciting books and educational teaching tools to continue capturing their minds and also open the door to learning new things in a variety of exciting ways! I can't wait to continue to develop and grow my students love learning, and also provide them with some great ways to learn new academic skills!

My Project

My pre-k and TK special education students learn best by playing! By providing my students with play money and a working cash register they will learn about the value of the dollar. They will be able to pretend that they work in a grocery store, or pretend that they are customers who are buying groceries! The money puzzles will help my students learn how to add different coins up to come up with the correct amount needed. This is a skill they will need later in life, Andy can even carry over into their pretend grocery store playing! I am excited to watch my student learn and understand the true value of the dollar.
