My Project

I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students. Our school is a Title I school and most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many are English language learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances.

I want to help these students in every way that I can, including researching other ways to teach and learn and meet them where their need is!

I have been closely following the Science of Reading research and strongly believe that this will help our students learn the foundation to help them to read! I am requesting the Guided Phonics and Beyond Focus Lessons: Unit 1 Letter Foundation book and materials because I still have some students that need more exposure to the letter names and sounds. This book is based on SOR research, and I believe that it will close the gap that some students have in making the connection between letter names/sounds using fun lessons and materials which will include bubble spelling, colorful visuals, magnetic wands, and letter chips!

Thank you so much for supporting literacy in young children!
