My Students

I teach for the KCMO school district in the inner city. I have taught the same students for three years. They are now in fourth grade. They are like my own children and very special to me in so many ways. I want to keep them healthy and safe through this devasting pandemic. We would greatly appreciate your help.

My Project

It’s important to keep and maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment for a number of reasons. A clean classroom helps to minimize the spread of germs. It also helps to avoid the offending smells that may linger throughout the day. I have over 21 students all breathing the same air; that air is filled with bacteria and the smell of food because my students each breakfast and lunch in the room every day.

Having a germ-infested classroom can potentially cause health problems if the classroom is not kept clean.

Besides the negative impact it may have on my students' health, it’s always a good idea to keep my classroom clean to show my students the importance of living in a clean environment.

We are short staff on janitors and there are days my room doesn't get cleaned unless I clean it. So I am asking for a vacuum and broom to maintain the cleanliness of my carpet. Thank you.
