Teaching Future Leaders of America

Help me give my students access to a variety of engaging, digital resources on Teachers Pay Teachers, and a laminator to laminate and display their projects around the classroom, which will protect their work during classroom deep cleanings/sanitizing.

My Students

This year I'll be teaching 20 eager 4th grade students in a general education classroom. My district is using an A/B model of learning, where half my students attend school in-person, while the other half is virtual for the day.

My students are a group of hardworking, diverse, and passionate individuals who deserve a collaborative, creative, and engaging learning environment.

Unfortunately, my students have struggled to learn during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly all the children in my school are from low-income households, in which they were given devices to pursue virtual learning. Throughout the pandemic, it was disheartening to learn that many of my students encountered various problems virtually, including sharing a device with siblings, tech issues, WIFI issues, and lack of support from home.

My Project

As an educator, I firmly believe that setting high standards and promoting confidence in learning, regardless of skill, ability, and/or disability, allows students to understand their strengths with a positive mindset.

Working in a school where nearly all students come from low-income households, I feel it is my duty to inspire my students to believe that they can truly accomplish anything with effort and motivation.

The materials I am asking for will be used during in-person teaching as well as virtual learning this upcoming school year. Some items such as the laminating machine, self-adhesive name plates, and tote bags, will be used to protect students' items and classwork during classroom deep cleanings/sanitizing. Other materials such as the "Outdoor Science Lab for Kids" will be used to engage students outside during mask breaks for socially distanced science investigations.

Thank you in advance to anyone who helps fund my project! I am so appreciative of anyone who can donate, and I know my students will greatly benefit from the materials I have sought after.
