Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are kindergarten - fourth graders at a large elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee. Our amazing students are from over twenty countries in the world, and the majority speak English as their second (or even third!) language. They are bright, funny, creative, and hard-working. They love to learn and they love to achieve their goals!
Our "school family" is a tight-knit group where each child wants the best for every other (no, we're not perfect, but we try really hard), and it is really something special.
These kids deserve the best of everything, and they prove it every day with their passion for learning and life, their will and desire to succeed, and their encouragement and love for one another. They make the job I dreamed about as a child a reality daily.
My Project
These materials will help my students in all four domains of language: reading, writing, speaking, and listening! With engaging technology, I can provide differentiated opportunities to all learners.
The iPad gives us the opportunity to record and listen to ourselves, create engaging and meaningful content to show what we know, and have access to a world of books and information we may not be able to access otherwise.
With the iPad pencil, I have the opportunity to provide real-time feedback through student growth portfolios. Additionally, I can maintain electronic samples of authentic student work to help students reflect and grow.
