Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are always ready to begin class every morning. I see their bright smiles and energetic bodies motivated to begin the day. We are a dual immersion class and I always notice they get super excited when they learn something new. Kindergaraten is hard as it is, but getting our students to read is our number one goal.
My Project
My project aims to teach my students about inclusion, no matter our differences. Most of my students have never been in a school setting and have only interacted with their family or people of their race and culture. I feel it is important to learn about differences and acceptance. These books will help my students see beyond their own cultures and will allow them to build community with each other.

The TPT gift card will help me further extend these lessons by allowing me to purchase teacher created materials. My students need pen/pencil activities and artistic projects to help them internalize the concepts. How beautiful will it be for these life long attributes to be instilled at such a young age.
