Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I'm working as an intervention teacher so these kids have to do both online classes with their regular teacher and then show up for group sessions with me. My 30 sixth graders come from low-income families. They are first-generation students who mainly speak Spanish. The majority of them live in multi-family homes sharing rooms with multiple siblings. Most of them have a hard time finding a quiet place to do online classes but they still show up with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. They are really happy with just the basic necessities of life. Their joy for life is contagious. They are a great group of kids.

My Project

I am requesting a teachers pay teachers gift card. It is a website that provides teachers with digital resources needed and require very little prep time. It is a website created for teachers by teachers.

It will provide digital materials needed for online distance education.

Having students at different learning/reading levels is difficult. Being able to provide each group with their individualized lessons will facilitate their learning. Having engaging learning activities that the students can relate to makes a world of difference. This gift will provide me with various lessons and also help support other teachers.
