This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the Art Teacher in a K-2 building, I am in the unique position of working with all students in the building for a couple of years. This comes with the pleasure of watching my students grow and learning what modalities they learn best with. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, creating amazing art in a variety of mediums, and are very curious. There are over 900 students in our school. There is a large population of English language learners, many who are new to the country. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids! This virtual course will teach additional strategies so that I can be a better educator for my amazing students.

Studies show that teacher quality is the most influential factor that can determine student success.

This is why teachers should never stop learning! With the information gained in this course, I can be a better advocate for my students! All of the knowledge gained from this virtual course will be utilized in my classroom and shared with my peers as well. Together we are better.
