This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I currently am an ENL Cluster Kindergarten teacher. This means I work with a large ENL population many of whom have no prior schooling. I act as a mentor to the families as they begin their educational journey with their children. In addition, I enjoy mentoring new teachers by supporting them at the beginning of their careers. It is inside my classroom that my students develop a love for literacy, Math, STEM and Science activities to name a few. My passion for learning is shared with them through my hands-on approach and genuine love for what I do. I advocate for the needs of all of my students and keep myself current with up to date topics and information in order to support my families and colleagues.
Studies show "Teacher quality is the most influential factor that can determine student success" This is why teachers should never stop learning!
With the information gained in this course, I can be a better advocate for my students!
All of the knowledge gained from this course will be utilized in my classroom and shared with my peers as well. Together we are better.
