Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a diverse group of twenty-two first and second grade students at a Title I school. The majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I have many English Language Learners that are absorbing the English language each day.

I love how my students are always eager to learn.

They are so inquisitive and creative. I appreciate how hard they try with whatever they do. They are a very special group. My students are extremely resilient. They work hard and always go into things with a growth mindset. I love how close-knit my class is. We focus a lot on building a classroom community and developing good relationships. They are extremely kind and value and respect each other.

My Project

We are so grateful for having the ability to print things out in color. We have been utilizing our colored printer for various materials and projects (especially during the holiday season), and now need more cartridges.

My students have been loving adding color to their work and our classroom!

We have printed out pictures and projects for their leadership portfolios and we now need a hole puncher to get all of their paperwork organized into 3 ring binders. I only have a single hole punch in my class, so it has definitely been a slower process and a challenge.

The gel pens would be a great way for me and my kids to edit/revise their work when we meet for our writing conferences. I would also love an additional charger for the iPad as sometimes I forget mine, and would need it for a back up. Another master lock would help keep our iPad charging station safe and secure. I currently have 3 and only 2 locks. I would also love to have a case to keep my teacher laptop safe and protected.
