Every day my students greet me at the door with a high five or some form of a handshake. They are eager to start the day and are excited about learning. What they are most excited about is afternoon play centers where they have free choice of their learning.
We are in a rural community where many of my students don't have opportunities to experience the world.
I strive to provide a brain-compatible classroom for all my students through cooperative learning and conscious discipline.
My students need a new projector so we can read and view environmental science text and videos.
My students are more engaged when they can see the enlarged pictures of what we are studying.
We use a program called Epic! that has books and videos about environmental science. This program has tons of books and videos to watch and read to use with my science lessons. We had to go about a week without a projector this year and it wasn't easy to teach my curriculum. Our tech guy fixed an old one up for us to use but it is on its last leg and I don't want to go without a projector again if it breaks soon. Learning through informational text and videos is very beneficial for my students.
