Every year getting students to read becomes a bigger challenge and finding books that interest students is even harder. Your generous donation has made this challenge a lot easier in my classroom. These books will provide engaging opportunities for my students to connect with a book. They have already begun reading them nonstop and I see the growth towards their reading goals. One student said \"I think I have read every book in this school, now I have more!\"\r\n\r\nEvery time a child reads they are growing their curiosity, comprehension, and confidence. New books means new chances to connect with a student and to get them to dive deeper into the world of learning. We have been working on learning about what multiplication is and then my students began memorizing the multiplicaiton facts back in November. A few items from this project has definitely helped my students with this. I am using the clear plastic mats to put the timed test paper inside of so they can take it home and practice on it before taking their timed test at school. Using this mat makes it where these papers are resuable, which saves on paper since I don't have to make so many copies. Once they pass their timed test they can earn a piece of bubble gum. They LOVE to get a piece of gum out of the gumball machine I was able to get from your generous donation. \r\n\r\nMy students also love earning some of the other rewards I received from this project. For instance, they can earn candy and/or a water bottle sticker (which they love to put on their take home folders) when they do well on a test. They also can earn rewards from good behavior by earning DOJO points (our positive behavior system) and then redeeming their points for rewards. \r\n\r\nI just wanted you to get a little peek at the impact your donation has had on my classroom and to say thank you one more time.
