Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a dual language immersion program. They come into my classroom every day ready to learn math, language arts, social studies, AND science in a language that is not native to them, Spanish. These students do not speak Spanish at home and truly try their best to learn everyday.

We learn mainly through songs, discussions, technology, games, and experiences.

My students love to ask questions, learn, and discover. I have a total of 58 fun, loving, and energy filled students!

My Project

I have the amazing opportunity to attend the teach your heart out professional development conference. During this conference I will be "Learning from top educators about Collaboration , Celebrating Diversity, Rigorous Instructional Strategies and Engagement." (TYHO).

Presenters include many well-rounded, highly qualified educators who help others how to learn and apply research-based, cutting edge strategies.

I will be able to learn about project-based learning, effective classroom environments, how to help my students develop emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

In regards to my classroom, this means I will be able to take back everything I learned and help my students be more successful. They will be able to have ideal learning conditions and I will be able to use strategies that will help them learn more effectively.
