My Students

My international minded second graders come from a variety of backgrounds, with many different value and beliefs. However, in our classroom we have one thing in common: becoming the best versions of ourselves in order to make meaningful contributions to our community and world.

Our school community serves a large population of English Language Learners.

We are a newly accredited school and I want our classroom learning experiences to be molded to the needs of my students. This group of students posses a variety of needs, including sensory support. They all bring a wealth of experiences, traditions, religions and knowledge to our classroom. They teach me, and each other, each and every day.

My Project

My students are actively using many methods and resources to gather information about the world around them. We spend much of our time inquiring and wondering using books, articles, reference materials, and technology.

My students need working headphones, headphone splitters and an iPad cases to assist in our inquiry block.

With so much use, our headphones begin to wear away over time. Sharing headphones and iPads make it difficult to gather necessary information.

The headphone splitters allow many students to collaborate and share their perspectives throughout their inquiry, while working together on one iPad. Our iPads get a lot of use, so more protective covering is necessary to preserve the life of our current technology.
