This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I know I just put that down! Where are my papers? Wait one minute while I look! My students hear these words out of my mouth everyday and the hardest thing to learn in teaching is how to deal with all the "paper shuffling."
I teach 1st grade in a challenging college prep charter school in Los Angeles.
My students are smart and love to work hard and be challenged. They are at that age when I need to teach them not only academics but social skills such as organization, study skills, and working as a team (just to mention a few!). The best way to teach this is to be an example myself.
My Project
I am looking forward to organizing my classroom with a pocket chart to be used as student files and a pocket file chart and colored bins to be use for daily lessons. Magnetic letters and shapes will prepare the board for daily lessons and instruction.
With your help I can become "the change I want to see in the world" meaning I can show my students how to be prepared and organized.
From me they will learn how to keep their things neat and in order.
