For our science unit, I wanted to enhance their learning of my scholars by having them do an Animal Research Project for the classroom. Scholars have chosen an animal that they wanted to research from the available books that were donated to the classroom. With these books, they will begin to use them as a resource for their at home use after using them in the classroom. I will make it truly like a library book where scholars will need to check out the book by signing an agreement to take care of it so that I can use it for years to come. \r\n\r\nAs we have just started picking out the books for my scholars to do their research on, we will be using them in the next upcoming weeks to learn how to find important information about their animal and use that information as evidence of questions they will be researching. We will be looking at questions like \"what is this animal's habitat?\" Or even \"what is this animal's predators/prey?\" Because a lot of the readers are differentiated from being a pre-reader, level 1 and level 2, the information that will be given wouldn't be too much for my kindergarteners. I have scholars of varying reading levels and the books they chose nearly perfectly reflect their ability to read and understand.\r\n\r\nAll of my scholars are super excited about this project and I've had multiple parents reach out already expressing how they have already got a head start on researching their animal and they really like their choice of animal.
