Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a low-income school in North Fort Worth. Our school is primarily Hispanic students. We work as a team to help them succeed. You can feel the sense of community just by walking in our doors.

My wonderful students have been diagnosed as having dyslexia.

It is my job to help them reach their reading goals and cope with their disability. My students are pulled from their classroom to work with me in small groups. They enjoy coming to see me and are excited to become better readers, writers and spelling whizzes.

This project will benefit our students by providing an after-school reading club.

My Project

These books will be used for a reading and writing club for students who are attending a low-income school. We will read the books and create our own books or other projects based on out reading.

My goal is to help them learn how fun books can be!

After school, we will read the novels together. We will do fun writing projects based on our reading. I am doing this after-school club to support students reading books they may not have been exposed to otherwise. My book club will be a blast for students. We will read Harry Potter, Willie Wonka, and more!
