My students need basic supplies to keep our classroom running such as markers, chart paper and organizational tools. We are also looking for a common core math kit.
Help our class! We have been working so hard to collect supplies and food for the local shelters for the upcoming holiday season, that we have neglected to purchase supplies for our classroom. We are so motivated to learn, that we are using basic supplies more quickly than we anticipated.
My students are an amazing group of kids that are flourishing in the classroom.
We work collaboratively together daily, and have a wonderful time sharing our ideas and growing together. Because we are a title 1 school, we have a hard time obtaining the supplies that we need easily. These students have made tremendous progress this year with the difficult transition to common core, and I would love to continue to inspire their learning with additional supplies. They were rejuvenated and inspired to learn when we received the supplies from our last project, and would love to continue to show how wonderful they are with additional supplies.
My Project
Currently, we are looking for some of the basic supplies that we use on a daily basis. We have been using or supplies cautiously, however with the high energy level and enthusiasm my students apply to learning, we are constantly exploring new ideas and using up supplies. We are requesting new markers, chart paper, organizing trays, and materials that support the common core standards for fifth grade. These basic supplies will help provide further organization and structure to our room, as well as provide a continued supply of the items we need most to continue the flow of learning. They will also allow the students to work on filling in skill deficits in mathematics while preparing them for the rigor of the new common core learning.
Having the opportunity to reach these students, some whom have no additional positive support outside of school, is essential to me as a teacher and a person.
The amount of gratitude and positive emotion that my students expressed, and continue to share when we received our last projects funding was inspirational. They have been refreshed and are working exceptionally hard to increase their education, despite the rigor of the new curriculum.
