Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are superstars willing to take on any challenge thrown their way.

Our classroom is a welcoming environment. The students are supportive of one and another and truly want to see each other succeed. We work hard every day to make sure we are living up to our potential as 3rd grade students.

My Project

There is a strong push for the incorporation of technology into daily lessons. My students have laptops that they work on every day. Most lessons require they wear headphones. The headphones that they wear are old, bulky, falling apart, and hurt their ears. Earbuds would help my students to listen to videos and experience lessons without the discomfort of the old clunky headphones.

We love to use different modes of assessment in our classroom!

My students enjoy presentations and teamwork. Although, we try to do most of our presentations on the computer, there are times we need to print pictures or articles. Our school does not have a color printer. The classroom printer would allow students to create colorful projects. Lastly, The video camera will help us to record their amazing work and share it with the school and parents.
