My students need this workout equipment because we have no weight room at our school. We are trying to get our athletes college ready and this equipment would be a great help!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Predominately lower income Hispanics make up 85% of our school. Many live in multi-family homes where extended families share one small house. We are in the highest bracket for free and reduced lunch in our district. Our school district gave free lunch to every student through October to help reduce expenses as we rebuild due to the natural disaster (Hurricane Harvey). Every single athlete was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. My soccer girls are dedicated individuals who work hard day in and day out to improve as a team and individually. They are also great excellent students as 90% of them are on the A/B Honor Roll List.
My Project
This equipment will make a huge difference in my athletes. We will get to focus on their strength and conditioning to help them take the next step which is receiving a soccer scholarship. All of my athletes have never step foot in a gym before and I am also trying to change that so that we can have a culture of healthy athletes. We will have set days to focus on our strength and conditioning and teach them how to properly use the equipment and maintain it in excellent conditions.
In addition, this equipment can also be utilized by the other two sports in our school, basketball and softball.
They also have no access to a gym/workout equipment since our school doesn't have any.
