Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many educational theorists and technological developers are discussing the importance of developing 21st century skills in schools. Therefore, it is essential that my students have a well-functioning and user-friendly computer in their classroom on which they may develop these essential skills

My students are highly motivated, college-bound high school students who are not always able to access technology from their homes.

My students are wonderfully intelligent students who need to develop their technological literacy skills in order to be successful students in both high school and college. Unfortunately, many public schools are facing budget cuts which inevitably results in under-resourced computer labs and multi-media centers. Thus, it is essential that my students be able to access a computer that they may use for presentations and projects in order to be viable competitors in today's society. Many latent skills would flourish if only they had access to highly advanced technology that they may not otherwise encounter. With a computer in our classroom, my students would be able to experiment with the vast array of multi-media options that would surely enhance their learning.

My Project

Clearly, technology and different forms of media, specifically, are integral to every young person's life. The purpose of this initiative is to utilize familiar media formats and integrate their use into more sophisticated and focused presentations. My students would garner the necessary technological skills to succeed in high school, college and beyond. They would be able to develop their creativity and learn many new avenues for creative expression. Together, we would create Power Point and Keynote presentations to engage them in their academics, film important presentations upon which we could reflect, communicate via Web Cam in order to facilitate long-distance learning, and create many other exciting technology-based projects.

Your generous donation will have a direct and important impact on the education of my ambitious, yet at-risk students.

You will single-handedly contribute to enhancing interest and connection to learning.
