This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonder! They have unique perspectives on the world and they are eager to learn.

It is a joy to watch my students embrace the arts and elevate their learning through artistic expression.

Though they are only 6-7 years old, their observations are intriguing and their academic conversations are rich in vocabulary and content. They are building confidence in themselves and learning how to turn a "mistake" into a "Beautiful Oops."

Every morning, we start off the day by standing in a circle, holding hands, and reciting our "Family of Friends" poem. With our words and actions, we encourage friendship, hard work, a positive attitude, and a healthy lifestyle.

My Project

We are fortunate to live near one of the most beautiful bridges in the world!

To honor where we live, we will wrap up our first year as an arts magnet school by doing an in-depth study of the Golden Gate Bridge!

We will be using large brushes and paint to capture our own representation of the beautiful bridge on canvas.

We will be using craft sticks, glue guns, and spray paint to build our own models of this famous suspension bridge.

We will be filming news stories of the bridge, and adding scenic backgrounds to our film with the help of a green screen.

We are using as many different kinds of media as possible to enhance our learning and creativity!
