This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reflecting is a huge part of being a musician and learner. The act of reflection and deep-level thinking is often overlooked in the music classroom because "there isn't enough time".

While there is a small amount of truth to this statement, I intend to make time for student musicians to intentionally reflect on their growth and progress as musicians.

As part of my own learning and engagement with Visible Thinking Routines, I want to give my students the materials to build their own reflection sketchbooks. With folders and filler paper, we will have everything we need to build and eventually fill our reflection sketchbooks with our observations and goals for the year ahead!
